Avocado toasts are truly versatile and can be made as an energy-boosting breakfast, an easy lunch, or a midday snack. Avocado toasts with smoked salmon are a personal favorite of mine..

Deciding whether to smash your avocados (chunky or creamy) or to slice them is the first step to your toast. As you do this step, take a slice of fresh sourdough and get it well toasted. An amazing complement to avocados are smoked salmon, there is an amazing harmonious contrast of taste that goes on with these two ingredients, and once you try this recipe, you will always prefer a freshly homemade avocado toast over a cafe or a restaurant-made one.

Ingredients

  • Scallions

  • Cherry tomatoes

  • Salt

  • Olive oil

  • One avocado

  • Black pepper

  • Smoked salmon

Instructions

  1. Wash your scallions really well, then slice them. The entire vegetable is edible, just trim off any wilting parts. Then repeat the same steps with your cherry tomatoes. And again with your smoked salmon.
  2. The avocado It must be just ripe—not too ripe or barely ripe. Now, get your avocado and grip it on one side with one hand, then cut it lengthwise into halves. Next, tap with your knife on the pit with enough force to twist the pit out of the avocado. Scoop out the flesh of the avocado, add it to a bowl, and begin smashing it with a fork. You can make it as creamy or as chunky as you prefer.
  3. Grab your ready and toasted sourdough slice. A good piece of bread can make or break this recipe since there are no special or elaborate ingredients here. Your sourdough should be fresh and not dense.
  4. Layer your smashed avocado on top of the toast, and begin adding your smoked salmon pieces. Top your toast with the scallion and cherry tomato slices. Finally, sprinkle some black pepper and salt, and drizzle a small amount of olive oil.
  5. This is it! A simple and easy yet very delicious meal.
  6. Salmon, tomatoes, and scallions are not the only ingredients you can top your toast with. In fact, toppings are where you can get creative. Find what you like and add it for more goodness. Another great topping would be a soft medium-boiled egg on top of the mashed avocados Give it a try, and don’t forget the sourdough! It will upgrade your toast entirely.
